FANS ON FANNISH HISTORY

From Time to time fan historians like to write monographs on selected topics based on their experience and their research. Here are a few of them:

BRITISH COLUMBIA

BCSFA – British Columbia Science Fiction Association – Vancouver

Chronicles of BCSFA: 1969 – 1975  by R. Graeme Cameron

Includes the story of the UBC SFFEN (the precursor to BCSFA), the founding of BCSFA, and the first 4 VCON conventions (Guests of honour were, in sequence: Ursula K. LeGuin, Philip K. Dick, Frank Herbert, & Robert Silverberg), as well as glimpses of club meetings and activities in the early days.

THE CHRONICLES OF BCSFA – 1969-1975

UBC SFFEN – University Of British Columbia Club – Vancouver

STAGE ONE (Oneshot) – Published 1969. It was the need to hide money (from the UBC Alma Mater Siciety) raised for the purpose of funding this zine that led to the creation of the off-campus BC SF Asoociation in 1970.
